6.28.11 TITEN is a new bearing company featuring high speed bearings that are made of super hard carbon steel and are specifically designed to withstand the biggest gaps and maintain their performance after months of riding. Congrats! 6.22.11 SSM just launched their brand new website, it's laid out really nice, and features an exclusive montage edit of the SSM team riders. Check out their new website here 6.21.11 NYC skater Billy O'Neill is organizing an invite only real street event in NYC on August 20th. Featuring real street obstacles showcasing rollerblading in the rawest form. The street event will feature rollerblading's top Pro/Am skaters to compete for $10,000. Revolution is proud to help sponsor events like this, showcasing blading the way it should be. Check out the flyer for more information, and you can follow the event on their website. 6.13.11 This past TNS Session at Tempe Skatepark, our local Arizona skaters surprised me on my Birthday with a special Revolution B-Day Cake! The "Revolution Cake" turned out awesome, we grabbed a photo of it before it was cut up and shared with everyone at the session. Since Dominic has moved to Arizona, we have gotten to know him even better as a person. He's someone who is kind, he's also the type of guy to session with anyone, no matter who you are. A lot of effort goes into putting out quality media for Revolution. This is a small glimpse into the work that we do to make it happen. In the end, it's all worth it when we see the final product. Revolution Skate Shop has been in the same location for the past 6 years, ever since we made the move to Arizona. We feel that is time for something new. Please read more here. Skaters that believe in what we do, and share the same passion as we do for rollerblading is the reason we do this. 5.23.11 The first time we skated with Travis, we knew we wanted to film a 90 with him. It's funny how he looks a lot older than he really is. He told me a story about the first time he skated with Chris Farmer. After the session Farmer said, "whoa, that old guy was ripping." Travis has everything in front of him, we're excited to give him exposure. Thank you to our photographers Kris Troyer, Awall and Ryan Daily for shooting the photos! 5.16.11 Utah skater Billy Anderson aka "Beastmaster" - is a skater we admire, the passion he has for blading is unmatched. He is easily one of the most inspiring skaters to be around. Billy also shot a sequence of Mike Lilly for his 90 Second profile during a weekend trip from Utah to Phoenix. Billy shreds hard, check out his Revolution TOP 5 Profile! 5.10.11 A lot has been going on here in Arizona, we had the Strange Creatures crew come out to skate and film for a week. We had a lot of late night filming missions, coming back at 1 AM was considered an "early night. Dylan Davis also claimed top trick on an infamous Tucson ditch gap. Also, we spent a day up in Sedona, where Dominic Sagona shot a photo at the most scenic skate park in Arizona. We wanted to share some insight into what makes him so unique on and off the blades. Strange Creatures released 4 New Shirts: Rising, 45 Grave, Voodoo Show, and Chief. The Strange Creatures Crew has been skating hard in Arizona filming for their next video, we have already had some amazing skate sessions. They are here in AZ for this week, stay tuned for more updates! 4.25.11 Strange Creatures is coming out to film for their next video, and want to come skate Arizona for a week before the AZ summer heat hits. Adam Brierley, Keith Brierley, Amir Amadi, Dean Coward, Matt Langel, Matt Luda, Brandon Smith, Dylan Davis, and Alex Broskow are making the trip out to AZ. Come skate and hang out with BHC at this week's Revolution TNS Session. 4.19.11 "I ventured off to Barcelona for a few months to wrap my brain and body around some skating after being out of the game on injury for about 15 months. Here's an unexpected little edit of highlights that was put together by my good buddy Richie Eisler! Thanks Rich big up!" - Dom Dominic makes skating look amazing, you can tell he was born to rollerblade. Rodney came out for a quick trip to Arizona, we skated hard everyday, and were able to shoot some nice photos of Rod. Matthias is originally from Germany, but he has been living in Melbourne, Australia for the past 2 years. Matthias has a really unique style, we are huge fans of his skating. Tinsley is one of our good friends, he asked me to write his ONE Folio profile for him. Chris is an extremely talented designer, and skater. He has a direct understanding of blading. First, we had a surprise visit from our good friend Mathieu Ledoux (Montreal, Canada). This surprise visit from Mathieu sparked a last minute trip from Damien Wilson, Lyle Shivak, and Nick Wood to come out to skate/film in Arizona for "Fester." Check out all the Lifestyle Photos posted here. 3.21.11 Mike Lilly came out to film his Revolution 90 Second Edit, and we were able to film his interview during the last couple days of his trip to AZ. Mike has one of the strongest personalities in blading, he also has some of the strongest views on our sport as well. It was difficult to edit Mike's interview because everything he said had meaning. One AZ CREW even runs a blog about their sunday sessions - Monster Sundays. So, yesterday, we picked up Dominic Sagona, and headed out for his first AZ street session. Everyone got clips, it was another fun, productive day filming and shooting photos. He always has a smile, and sees the best in every situation. He reps Texas, and he absolutely kills it on blades. We had a really productive night last night with Rod, we shot photos with Kris Troyer right at sunset. Then met up with Austin Paz to shoot for the late night mission. Rodney shot 4 photos last night, one of them will be a fresh poster at the shop. Also, stay tuned for a Revolution TOP 5 profile with Rodney. 3.4.11 Dominic just moved from California to Arizona, we are really excited to have a skater/icon like him be a part of our skate scene. The "Matty" can be worn rolled or unrolled with the graphic showing either way. Revolution Clothing is made by rollerbladers for rollerbladers. 2.24.11 "Honey Baked" - Quinn Barnett, Malcolm Heard, and Dylan Davis just spent a week skating, and held an Arizona premiere for "Honey Baked" last weekend at the Tempe Blade House. "Honey Baked" is being distributed by Straight Jacket Distribution. They are leaving Arizona today, and heading to Detroit for the video release. We wish these guys the best, they have a bright future ahead of them. 2.22.11 USD Imperial features a Hytrel Thermoplasitc Base. It has the flexibility of rubber, and the strength of plastic. Providing a strong, yet flexible base for support. The Imperial also is 35% smaller, and 25% lighter than a traditional hardboot. Similar to the carbon, you'll have total control over your feet. Bolino is ripping AZ spots! 2.17.11 Mike Lilly is an amazing skater that has influenced and inspired a lot of skaters in our industry. Jon and I have a saying that "everything he does is gold." Where certain skaters can't do no wrong, everything they do is amazing, every clip is priceless. Mike Lilly is one of those skaters, he filmed his 90 Second Edit in 1 week. Thank you to Jon Jenkins, Austin Paz, and Billy Anderson for making Mike's Edit possible. 2.14.11 Last week, we received a bunch of Revolution Samples: beanies, pocket t's, crew neck sweatshirts at the shop. We gave one of our new Sample beanies to Mike Lilly to wear during his trip here to Arizona. All of our beanies are being hand stitched by our good friend/skater Matty Schrock. Stay tuned, we'll have a lot of new Revolution Gear coming soon! Obe, Quintin Lamb, JC Rowe, Brandon Negrete, & Kruise Sapstien came out to Arizona last month to escape the heavy rains in California. Negrete just posted the footage from their trip. They hit up woodward west first, then drove out to Arizona for a quick skate session. All the AZ footage was filmed in One Day. (?) 1.28.11 Strange Creatures just posted an edit featuring our good friends Adam & Keith Brierley. The Brierley's are killing it, great to see their progression. Gabe was invited to join this year's Roccity AZ trip to AZ, he fit right in with the crew. We shot Gabe's skate photo late one night after a long day of skating, he was determined to go out and skate the legendary IRS Ledges in Phoenix. It's easy to be drawn to a skater like Bina. Bina came out to visit Arizona one time, then said - "this is the place I need to be." Thank you to Austin Paz, Andrew Nemiroski, Kris Troyer, Awall, and Jon Jenkins for all having a part in making Bina's Revolution 90 Second Edit the best it can be! We have seen Chad progress up the ranks in our Arizona scene. Ever since he was really young, you could tell he was going to be good. It's great to see him progress to where he's at today. Dale Travers came out to visit Arizona for 2 weeks in 2009. Dale had the chance to really experience what Arizona is all about. Check out his blog for the full profile. "Arizona is an amazing place. The skateshop owners are amazing. Revolution Skateshop has changed everything in Arizona. Starting a skateshop builds scenes. It gets new kids into the scene and gives them a place to hang out and is such an amazing step forward for rollerblading." 1.5.11 Joey and his friend Jesse Pagan set up a NIMH Video Premiere & Box Session for their skate scene in Orlando, FL. They raffled off Vicious Bearings, NIMH DVD's, and even a Pair of NIMH Skates at the event. It's really sick to see skaters step up and bring their scene together with things like this. He's a good friend, amazing skater, and you're guaranteed non-stop laughs being around Paz. We set up a nice park session with our AZ scene, followed by a late night street session that lasted til' 2 AM. A typical night to get things done in AZ. Everyone had a great time skating, JC just posted the photo update from their trip on www.everythingxsjado.com. The Xsjado Edit by Brandon Negrete is coming soon! 12.20.10 Today we had a surprise visit at Revolution. These guys came out to escape the rain in Cali to shred Arizona for a couple days. They are filming some online material for XSJADO. Quintin Lamb was recently added to XSJADO, it was his first trip to Arizona. This was everyone's first time to Revolution Skate Shop as well! The NIMH TEAM VIDEO featuring NIMH Pro Riders Brian Shima, Joey Chase, Montre Livingston, and John Bolino. Also featuring skating by Oli Short, Marc Moreno, Casey McFarland, and Matty Schrock. Revolution is hosting our NIMH VIDEO PREMIERE this Wednesday (12/22). The video starts at 7:30 PM at the Stewart Movie Theatre. DVDs will go on sale at the premiere! See you there! 12.17.10 Haffey came and hung out at Revolution last night. Our TNS Session got rained out. It's always good to talk to Chris, he's humble. Chris has really strong morals, he's real, and blading always comes first for him. He balances out an insane schedule with everything he does. He is juiced to skate AZ tonight - we'll have a special Friday Night Session with Haffey at Awhatukee Skatepark at 7:30 PM. See you there! 12.15.10 Matty has been living in Arizona for the past 4 months now, he's become a staple in our scene. He's heading back to Pensacola for Christmas this week. I think everyone is sad to see him leave. After Matty finished his 90 Second Edit, he didn't skip a beat, and kept stacking footage here. He pushed a lot of us to skate harder. We're not only fans of PJ's skating, but his vision for filming/editing is amazing. Recently added to XSJADO, he has also filmed a few Xsjado Online Promo edits that are top notch. Check out PJ's XSJADO FARMER 4 Edit, and the XSJADO SHOE LINE Commercial. Expect to see more of PJ, he makes blading look amazing on and off the skates. 12.13.10 "Short Cheap Flick" by Nick Norton features Matty Schrock, Micheal Braud, Joey Chase, Frank Irven, Chris Dafick, Erik Stokley, Wild Bill, William Issac, Julian Issac, Jake Cawley, Ryan Stevens, and Zach Gutweiler. "Short Cheap Flick" was also shot entirely on film - which is really amazing & really expensive for Nick. It also means the skaters had to land all their tricks right away, time is literally money. 12.10.10 Kato hit me up this morning, he said he's coming out AZ, and wants to skate a TNS Session. Kato told me not to post any news about him coming to AZ b/c "he's no one special." But, that is exactly what I admire most about Kato - "he puts others first before himself." In more REMZ news, we had a brand new skater come into the shop yesterday to grab his first pair of rollerblades ever! He picked up the REMZ OS4. 12.7.10 Damien is sponsored by PSYKO Clothing. Psyko owner Josh Diaz is also a photographer, and shot a nice photo of Damien doing a handflip on a vert wall from their trip to Puerto Rico. PSYKO also just featured a new Damien Skinny Jeans Edit entitled - "Tougher than Sh*t". These are usually "cheesy" edits, but Spira's was actually good b/c it was really how he is. Spira takes you thru cleaning his home in Denver, introducing his wife Sessy, protecting his home, to skating a spot named after him, all featured in this Scumpire Edit. He drove with Paz across the US, and was able to spend 4 days skating Arizona. We took the opportunity to film an "ON THE SPOT" Interview with him. Franco is definitely outspoken. He's full of energy, his personality mirrors his skating for sure. Xathan skates everyday, he has endless energy, and is determined to progress his skating. We brought "Xay" along on one of our 90 Second filming trips to Tucson, AZ, we figured it would be a good experience for him. We held it at our good friend DJ's house, and made a night out of it. We're juiced to have Matty be a part of our AZ scene. NYC's Austin Paz is set to move to Arizona on the 22nd of this month as well! 10.11.10 NEW CREATE ORIGINAL frames features new materials that are stronger, and more durable. Also featuring NEW Pro Graphics for each team rider, and some new frame colors. CREATE ORIGINALS had a manufacturer issue, and 3/4 of their new frame shipment they had to send back due to defects. It was also inspiring to see some new faces at the session. Everyone was shredding hard, taking some falls, and lacing new tricks. Ryan Daily quietly grabbed his camera and got setup to shoot different skaters around the park. It's nice to have Daily capture our scene, we're always juiced to feature our local arizona skaters. 9.30.10 Matty needs "one more weekend" to make his 90 Second Edit the best it can be. We're not rushing Matty, it's more important for us that Matty is completely happy with his 90. Matty has been skating really hard, his body is beat up. There's a couple clips he really wants to get for his edit, so we're going to wrap things up this weekend. We got right into it, and had a sick generator night session at a new ditch spot his first night in AZ. His 90 Second Edit is looking really good so far, his 90 is set to launch on October 1st. We dig Matty's skating, he's rocking the new NIMH Shamans, skating 58mm Flat! We're heading to Tucson to film this weekend with special guest Casey McFarland. We're fans of Paul John's work as well. Also, Revolution Team Rider Casey McFarland spent last week skating in Santee with Damien Wilson. He met up with Shima on saturday, and got his new Shaman skates as well. Shima also sent a pair of Shaman skates w/ Casey for AZ's NIMH Flow rider Chad Hornish. The wait is about half way over - we received the first shipment of Eulogy Wheels today. The first shipment included the Austin Paz (55/90), the Soichiro Kanashima (55.5/89), and the JC Rowe (58/90) Pro wheels. Eulogy is sending the wheels as they get finished - we are expecting the rest of the line shortly. We're about half way there. Check out the new eulogy wheels here. Our friend Kevin Yee posted a new SHOCK feature with the "Who We Are" Edit, and wrote some pretty inspiring words to go with our edit. "I really want to start to influence the industry and other media outlets to come correct and put out real quality content that makes rollerblading and our image look strong" - Jon Jenkins 9.7.10 We have been working on this owner's edit entitled "Who We Are" for the past 2 months now. The purpose for the edit is to show you exactly what Revolution is all about. Featuring how revolution first started, the reason we chose to move to Arizona, our dream of creating a real storefront for rollerblading, the importance of Thursday Night Skate, the Revolution Team, what skater owned means for us, and a lot more. This past saturday, Jon Jenkins and I wanted to film a clip for the "Who We Are" Edit at the Power Banks here in AZ. It was 110 Degrees, we grabbed a gallon of water and went for it anyways. Luckily, Ryan Daily met up as well to shoot some photos. By the end of it, we were all pretty beat. It turned into a fun session, and everyone got some deals. The Revolution Quick Hits Edit was filmed/edited by Jon Jenkins. 8.15.10 Brad's "TOP 5 Reasons to ride Remz", "TOP 5 Goliath Moments", "Top 5 MN Skaters", and more. Brad also won the "Wanna Skate 3" Street competition that went down in Minneapolis, MN. Damien's new footwrap also has a new clear gum sole that has a lion print graphic underneath. You can also see "Damien" printed on the skate throughout. I spoke to Damien this morning about his new pro skate, and he is juiced. He's working on some promo for Xsjado right now, so expect to see a new edit of him in the near future! Pysko stepped up and released a Jet Black Skinny Jean featuring stretch denim. They have a nice fit to them, and are made of 98% Cotton/2% Spandex, which is great for skating. Revolution Team Riders Damien Wilson and Casey McFarland are both on the Pysko Clothing Team, and will be rocking these new jeans by Psyko. Can't blame him. It was great having these guys at the shop, it was a quick day stop thru Arizona. The good news is they are coming back in November to skate when things "cool down" at bit in AZ. Bolino also just made a quick visit at Revolution yesterday with the Straight Jacket Tour (photos soon). It was great to see him, he was juiced to see all his old buds. It's always nice to talk to Jeff, he's easily one of our favorite people. The last time he was at the shop was 5 years ago with the Heat Tour. I keep a lot of older magazines at the shop for younger skaters to learn the history of our sport. We had an old Box Magazine at the shop with one of Jeff's first photos featured in a magazine. Post Session TBA after. 8.2.10 Remz developed a new generation of skates which addresses the problem of many soft boots: the softening and loss of support after a while of use. The new Remz technology solves the issue by incorporating high end non-stretch composite materials into the fabric, which effectively eliminates stretching and give over time. Filmed by Jon Jenkins. 7.13.10 "Wild Bill" first came out to Arizona 2 years ago on one of Joey Chase's revolution skate trips and loved it. His roots are definitely in Florida, but he wanted a change, AZ was the spot for him. Bill jumped on a greyhound bus for a 3 Day Trip across the US. During at which time his skates got stolen. So, yesterday, we fronted him some new Bambricks to get back skating again. Bill is flow for RAZORS and also M1 Urethane, so it's all good. DENIAL just released a new line of urethane. All pro wheels are 59mm, with a nice round profile. Revolution team rider John Bolino got his wheel re-released in black urethane. Montre Livingston released his pro wheel in red urethane. Also our good friend and up and coming skater Mark Wojda received his first pro wheel from DENIAL! Congrats Mark! Those guys are on top of it, building their own spots, creating trick lists, and making their skating look the best it can be. Bama is a staple for rollerblading. We set out in Arizona's famous summer heat - I believe it was 113 degrees...." - Troyer 6.18.10 Guillame Roy aka "G-King" came out to skate Arizona last April with Mathieu Ledoux. The cool thing about Guilaume is he runs a real skate shop called "Lylac" in Montreal. He is another skater owned skate shop, supporting his local scene, and promoting rollerblading. Respect. Guillaume is a great person. He also is the key organizer for the Montreal Classic every year. The MTL Classic is taking place this weekend, check www.montrealclassic.com. 6.17.10 Rodney hit me up last night telling me he had a 6 Hour Layover today in Phoenix. He's on his way from Los Angeles heading up to visit his home state of Alaska. I picked up Rod at the airport, he got to hang out for the day, see some old friends, check out some 90 Second Footage, and kick it at the shop. Always good to see Rod. You'll be able to see Rodney real soon in "Green" by Lonnie Gallegos. Damien skates for Psyko Clothing company based out of NYC, owned by skater Josh Diaz. Nick Wood filmed/edited this for Damien. Watching Damien skate gets us juiced. We're feeling his slip out front torque to top mistrial on the ledge line. He's also incorporating more hand flips into his bag of tricks. Amir made some custom dyed Strange Creatures "All Seeing" T-Shirts, all the proceeds go directly into producing the video. We showed Amir some support, and bought a shirt. Amir, Adam Brierley, Keith Brierley, Matt Langel, and Chris Tinsley are coming out to skate Arizona tomorrow for a week, do some last minute filming for "Strange Creatures." Expect to see some updates posted on Revolution throughout the week! 6.14.10 Last week's TNS was really good, the park was packed, skaters were juiced. Texas was representing. Mason Richard wrecked the square down rail with 450 anything, his friend Scott Wells had some tricks, and Derek Stanton (who moved to Arizona from Texas) had the highlight of the night - tru negative a/o pornstar. Our good friend Jon Jenkins filmed the Quick Hits for Revolution. 6.11.10 Mason and his homie Scott Wells from Austin, TX came out to Arizona earlier this week to skate. Last night, Mason was shredding at our Thursday Night Skate session. Look for him to be featured in our next "TNS Quick HIts" Edit coming soon. Mason is definitely an up and coming skater in our industry. Keep your eyes on him. Brad is flooding the internet this week with edits,pics, and updates. This edit features Brad hitting up street spots around his hometown of Duluth, MN. It is a promotion edit for the REMZ Haffey 2.0 skates. It was filmed and edited by Brad's homie "Money Mike." It's good to see Brad ripping, check it out here posted in our REV BLOG. 6.9.10 We hit up Mesa Skatepark the other night, it's one of the only parks in AZ that allows bikes into the park. DL is really good at BMX, not just cruising the park, he kills it, he does grinds, the whole bit. DL takes his son Life with him to Mesa skatepark to ride bmx as well, father/son session. Dustin put on his skates after the bmx session, and did a few tricks. Blading is natural for Dustin, it's good to see him skating again. In more BMAG news, Kato from REMZ just posted Brad's park edit on remz.com. Brad said some skaters from Minneapolis came up to session the Superior Skatepark, and were filming during the session. Which turned into an edit. It's always good to see Brad's skating. Thanks to Chris Duke for the edit. REV BLOG Update. 6.8.10 "....I did a/o soul from the toy rail to a/o soul the kink rail. I almost did a/o soul transfer up 360 tru miz. I locked it 2x and slid to the kink but I was exhausted by that time. I was even vomiting up the water I was trying to take in." I got this text message from Brad on sunday, the day after the comp. "I almost won a street comp yesterday, took 2nd. I can barely move today." The "Straight Jacket Tour" is a combination of Vibralux and Street Artist team riders, all traveling together to skate/film on a 6 week tour spread across the US. Bolino was pretty "beat" when he stopped in AZ last week, saying he's been going non-stop all year. However, he handles business like a champ, which is also why he's the "Skater of the Year." This day we waited until the sun went down, then hit some line ledges, then moved onto some bank to grinds. Mathieu Ledoux was cruising the park, he enjoyed meeting a lot of rollerbladers, super nice to everyone. We even had a few new skaters show up on some rec skates. They were excited to be around other rollerbladers, and "see" what we do. However, due to his busy schedule as a professional stuntman, (appearing in numerous movies you've probably seen) he finally got some free-time for the trip! Phoenix is the best place to shred, in my opinion. The kids learn so fast because of the huge blade scene there. They met up with new AZ resident John Bolino. We skated everyday, sessioning spots all over the valley, most lasting late into the night. One night the session lasted until 4 AM. REMZ Owner Kato and Chris Haffey came out to Revolution yesterday to promote the new REMZ HAFFEY 2.0. First, everyone met up at Revolution, and Kato bought pizza for everyone at the shop. Then we headed to our Revolution Thursday Night Skate. The session went off last night, really amazing. Thank you to Kato & Haffey for making it happen. 3.16.10 CO just released their new line of frames, featuring all new Pro Graphics, and the release of their 2 New Pro Riders: Chris Farmer & Alex Broskow Pro Frames. John Bolino had his good friend JStone design his new "Crumble" Pro Graphic. JStone is also the skater who designed our Revolution Stencils. Check out all the new frames here. 3.15.10 Sean Sea came out to skate Arizona with one of his INRI team riders Billy O'Neill. Sean also brought out his dog Firby, he goes with Sean every where. Funniest part is heading into skate a school, we hand over all the camera gear over the fence, all the lights, and we have to hand Firby over also. Everyone loves Firby. Sean killed it all week, it was good having him visit Revolution/Arizona. 3.12.10 Kato (remz owner) and Chris Haffey are coming out to session Arizona and skate our Revolution Thursday Night Skate at Thunderbird Skatepark. Mushroom Blading V2 is a "tour video" - it turned out pretty awesome to say the least. Revolution Premiere featuring special guests John Bolino, Billy O'Neill, Alf, The Kelsos, and Sean Cullen. See you Friday! 3.8.10 Colin Kelso, Sean Kelso, Steve "Alf" Iacono, and Billy "Fish" O'Neill decided they had enough of the cold east coast and came out to skate Arizona for a week.
